Custom Editorial Dashboard Built with Vaadin

FinanceDaily's editorial team needed a real-time dashboard showing article performance, publication queue status, and author workload — data that lived across their CMS, analytics platform, and HR system. No off-the-shelf tool integrated all three sources.

A custom Vaadin application was built on top of their existing Java back-end, aggregating data from all three systems into a single interface. The Vaadin Grid component handled thousands of live rows with server-side filtering and sorting. Role-based views ensured editors, sub-editors, and managers each saw the data relevant to them.

Editorial planning meetings were reduced from 90 minutes to 20 minutes daily. Publication bottlenecks became visible in real time, reducing missed deadlines by 70%. The dashboard replaced four separate spreadsheet-based processes that had been maintained manually for years.
